More plans for the complete makeover of Disney’s California Adventure have been showing up recently. LA Times is reporting that the Orange Stinger is in for a “re-theme”. Apparently the giant orange will be replaced with a Victorian style building similar to that of the new Toy Story ride at the other end of the pier. It is believed that the new ride will be called “The Silly Symphonies Swings” and be themed based on the old Disney Cartoons called Silly Symphonies. It’s looking like there will be smoke effects, an orchestrated score to go along with it, and a Mickey Mouse as conductor probably looking like he first did when he went from black and white to color.

Fans will probably have mixed feelings on this one. The few things that people think about when they think California Adventure are the big letters out front of the entry gate, the Mickey Mouse loop in California Screaming, the big ferris wheel, and the orange. This could either be a mistake taking away a symbol of the park or a great thing making the park feel new and updated.

We recently had the chance to ride the new Toy Story Midway Mania ride at Disney’s California Adventure. Click HERE for our complete Picture Update on the ride! We did not take any pictures of inside the ride itself as to not spoil anything, but there is plenty here to satisfy you until you get a chance to ride the ride yourself. This ride is an awesome addition to the park. It’s one of the best rides I have been on in a while! OK enough of the words, on to the pictures!

Hop on over to Westcoaster for an awesome collection of pictures around Toy Story Midway Mania. A lot of the constuction walls have been taken down and the gift shop is already open! I don’t know about you, but this is getting me quite excited for this attraction to open next month. Be sure to check these pics out!

Disney has announced that Annual Passholders for the Disneyland Resort will have the chance to win a preview of Toy Story Midway Mania. Just head on over to the AP Website and enter as soon as possible. Winners will be announced by June 2nd. In a nutshell you select the dates you will be available and how many other APs will be in your group and you get put into a drawing. Some of the available dates are during Blockout Days for select APs. Make sure you don’t enter for those days or you will need to buy a Blockout Day Ticket in order to go into California Adventure. Good luck to those who enter!

The official park map from California Adventure finally gives a release date for the new Toy Story Midway Mania set to open this summer. The date printed on the maps is June 17th, 2008. Mark your calendars, this is going to be a good one. Expect lines to be long and the sun to be out. Featured outside of the ride will be an animatronic Mr Potato Head that will interact with guests telling them that they should ride on the new ride. Looks pretty impressive thus far.
