RUMOR: Castle Walkthrough & Picture Update

June 6th, 2008

We were able to snap a few shots of some interested construction walls at the Disneyland Resort last weekend. These photos are of the back side of the castle in the corner where the entrance of the old Sleeping Beauty Walkthrough was. The rumor is that this attraction will finally re-open around the same time that the new Sleeping Beauty 2 Disk DVD gets released on October 7th, 2008. Here are the pictures we took of the walls:

On a side note, Miceage has a new picture update with similar pictures of the walls and MANY more pics from around the parks, definitely check this one out if you love the picture updates!

RUMOR REPORT: Matterhorn Bobsled Cars

May 6th, 2008

Before Original D launched there was a lot of buzz around the internet regarding new cars for the Matterhorn. A picture circulated showing a prototype of the new cars to be added (shown left). They would sit 3 people each in their own individual seat for a total of 6 people per train. There are two scenarios to be looked at now.

1) This is still the game plan and the new cars will be added late 2008 or early 2009

2) Since Space Mountain in Florida is looking to undergo a major rehab (possibly as extensive as the one here at Disneyland), the cars from that ride may be transfered over to So Cal to be placed on the Matterhorn.

Julie Andrews Gets Carrousel Horse Dedication

April 9th, 2008

When you think of Julie Andrews you think “Disney”. Julie got her jump start for her career with her role as “Mary Poppins” in 1964. Since that day she has become a Disney Icon. If you have been to the parks in the past few years you may have noticed she is the Ambassador for the 50th Anniversary Celebration at Disneyland Park. You may have also heard her voice as the narrator for the spectacular fireworks display “Remember… Dreams Come True”. She has become such an icon in the parks and for the company in general that the lead horse on King Arthur’s Carrousel, “Jingles”, has been hand painted with special designs and dedicated to the now famous actress. This is a huge honor and marks a spot for her for the rest of time in the history of Disneyland.
