2009 Birthday Gift Alternatives
September 23rd, 2008
A lot of questions have been thrown around about this new “Birthday For Free” promotion they have going on at Disneyland for 2009. The most common question being “I have an annual pass and already can go for free, what do I get?” After digging through the official Disney FAQs about the promotion we have found your answers! Your options as an AP will be to choose ONE of the following:
1) A “Birthday Fun Card” (or gift card) that is good ONLY on your birthday for whatever the current price of a single day, single park ticket is on your birthday. Adults will get Adult value, kids will get the kid value. ($69 for Adults, $59 for Kids Right Now). You can use this card for merchandise, recreation, or fun activities at select participating locations.
2) Special birthday Fastpass for certain attractions at the park you visit that day. The fastpasses may not be available after 11AM and are good for you and up to 5 members of your party.
3) a Single Day, Single Park ticket that is good any day until your next birthday.
With that information I’m thinking there will be a lot of APs shopping at Disneyland on their birthday next year…

There will be a new store on Main Street soon, Fortuosity Shop is opening its doors on October 3rd, 2008. What was once Disneyland’s Timepiece store, will re-open it’s doors as the Fortuosity Shop. The shop will still feature a large assortment of watches, clocks and artisan watches. It’s theme will be based off of the One Of A Kind shop in New Orleans Square which makes the atmosphere a real life early 1900’s era store. Hanging chandeliers, themed lights, and old pieces of furniture will adorn the store. Each time you visit the shop, you will be able to spot a new found treasure within the ever changing offering of accessories, apparel, and gift items.
It’s now been reported that the new Indy show that is being performed in the Aladdin’s Oasis venue is set to have a few subtle changes. Though people seem to be loving the new show (especially smaller children who often get to participate in the show itself), Disney has decided to tone it down a little bit. They are saying that it is planned to remove several of the direct hit punches that Indy gives during the show. The reason is probably different than what you are thinking though. Audiences are loving the combat and exciting stunts, what seems to bug people is when Indy gives a direct punch to the bad guy (who happens to be a woman in this small scale show). People don’t like the fact that a woman is getting punched by a man right there in front of their kids. “There are things that can happen in a movie that just shouldn’t happen in a theme park,” says Glenn Kelman, Director of the show.
