Less Intense Indy Show Coming for Kids
June 24th, 2008
It’s now been reported that the new Indy show that is being performed in the Aladdin’s Oasis venue is set to have a few subtle changes. Though people seem to be loving the new show (especially smaller children who often get to participate in the show itself), Disney has decided to tone it down a little bit. They are saying that it is planned to remove several of the direct hit punches that Indy gives during the show. The reason is probably different than what you are thinking though. Audiences are loving the combat and exciting stunts, what seems to bug people is when Indy gives a direct punch to the bad guy (who happens to be a woman in this small scale show). People don’t like the fact that a woman is getting punched by a man right there in front of their kids. “There are things that can happen in a movie that just shouldn’t happen in a theme park,” says Glenn Kelman, Director of the show. On the newest Disneyland Resort Park Maps there is an addition of an advertisement for Indiana Jones: Summer of Hidden Mysteries. Not a ton is known about the show other than it will be a very small scale show performed in the streets (and rooftops) of Adventureland. Looks like they are launching it the same day that Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull will be released in theaters, May 22, 2008. We’ll keep you updated as information becomes available.
