Around the Resort

Welcome to our latest update. Progress at the Disneyland Resort is being made at such a frantic pace that it's a challenge to keep up, but we do our best to keep you up to date with all the latest visual progress. This time out, Around the Resort will be short & sweet, but the DCA & Disneyland sections are chock-full of goodness, and you'll certainly want to check out this update's page 4: "Wallpapers of the Recent Past."

Also, don't forget about the hidden messages that magically appear just by hovering your mouse pointer over a photo! If you're ready, let's get started!

Welcome to the Disneyland Resort -- home of welcome banners that never change, and parking lot trams that take a siesta out in plain sight. Is it me, or has Disneyland tram service fallen off a cliff lately?

Believe it or not, Disneyland has a visual police presence too...

Celebrate food and booze!

There's lots of new in this update, but not so much in this area. Starabilla's spot remains vacant with no word of a replacement yet. The only new here is the disappearance of the shadowy impression of the Starabilla's sign

Nothing new over at the former Dept 56, in fact, there's nothing much at all here...

Club Libby Lu's transformation into Studio Disney 365 has begun, as evidenced by the new work wall.

So according to Disney, among other offerings Studio Disney 365 will sport, it'll be a place where you can be transformed into a huge superstar and get in touch with your inner "fashionista." Sounds incredibly creepy to me. Click here for more info on Studio Disney 365

Yep, Annual Passholder Appreciation Days - 20% off ONLY at World of Disney. Discount not valid in Disneyland or DCA. So, someone please help me understand this. I'm being appreciated for being an Annual Passholder to DLR, but the appreciation discount is not valid inside the parks that my AP grants me admission into. Am I missing something here?

While you're feeling appreciated, World of Disney CM's now hand out information pamphlets on D23 - Disney's so-called "Official Community for Disney Fans." I guess I need to pay $75, the club' membership fee, just to be a "Disney Fan" nowadays. I'm taking this as evidence that D23's subscription numbers aren't quite where Disney would like them to be.

Over at the ticket booths, in the place where Annual Passports have been advertised is now a larger version of the ticket price board above each ticket window.

So my question is, are people reading this and thinking that the only way to buy a ticket longer than 2 days long is to buy an Annual Pass? According to this, the minimum admission price for a non So-Cal resident's Disneyland stay of 3 days or longer is $269, the cost of a Deluxe AP that might have blackout dates right in the middle of a planned weekend vacation. That doesn't sound like it's in Disney's best interest to present things that way, so I don't get this either.

That's all for Around the Resort for this time. Please feel free to enjoy the other sections of the update by following the links below. Next up is DCA!
